Survivors with Post-Traumatic Brain Injury, PTBI, live with many and daily fears that were actually there before the event, but those fears are magnified. The greatest fear perhaps is a new injury to the head. Any event that may cause an impact to the head/brain like falling, tripping, slipping, or bumping are great cause for concern.
It’s difficult to do away with these fears, and they debilitate, weaken, and hold survivors prisoners. Many survivors find ways to manage such fears and live happy and productive lives, but for those who can’t seem to find doors to their freedom, home becomes their prison, and it doesn’t have to be this way.
